KAREN SMITH - SIX MONTHS AS VICE-CHAIR

Six months into post as the Vice Chair of Portico Vine, we caught up with the selfless human being, Karen Smith.

How’s it going Kazza?

"It's been an exhilarating journey as Vice Chair of Portico Vine ARLFC for the past six months. Witnessing the passion and dedication of our volunteers and players has been incredibly inspiring. We've accomplished so much together, and I'm excited for what lies ahead.

What has been most rewarding?

"One of the most rewarding aspects of being Vice Chair is witnessing the personal growth of our players both on and off the field. I'm committed to ensuring Portico Vine ARLFC remains a place where everyone feels valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential."

What have you learnt?

"As Vice Chair, I've learned so much from our dedicated volunteers, coaches and team managers. Their passion for the sport and the well-being of our players is contagious. I'm honored to be part of this incredible team, and I'm eager to continue working together to achieve even greater success."

You perform multiple roles at the club. Tell us why you were so passionate about keeping your role as Head of Communications too?

"Transparency and open communication have been essential in these initial months. I believe in keeping our members informed and engaged, and I'm proud of the progress we've made in enhancing communication channels within our club."

What does One Team One Dream mean to you?

"Trust and belief. I'm thankful for the trust placed in me as Vice Chair and grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community that has given so much to me. The support of our members and their families is what drives me to continually strive for excellence in leading Portico Vine ARLFC.”
