Our Portico Vine events team hosted a community event for the Coronation of King Charles III yesterday.
It was an open, free event which meant we couldn't be sure how many would attend...months of planning went into the day as do all our events...but we needn't have worried.
Our lovely new clubhouse was packed to the brim with our Portico family and the local community!
Home made cakes made by our talented in house bakers, cream teas, royalty themed games, coronation bingo, craft kits, temporary tattoos and coloured hair sprays in Union Jack colours and an ice cream van. It's safe to say a fabulous morning was had by all.
Adults were able to watch the Coronation live on our large screens whilst the kids made memories. I think they particularly enjoyed the good old-fashioned giant rounders game with club physio Kev. What more could we want??
Oh yes!! Open Age rugby match completed the day!! For the youngsters, it inspired them for the future! The rain held off all day until the second half when the rain poured buckets but didn't dampen anyone's spirits.
We hope that in years to come, our Portico children will remember where they were, when they reminisce when King Charles III was crowned King of our Country..in their second home, little old Portico Vine, with their rugby family. 💚💛🇬🇧👑
